TEENAGE DRINKING
According to studies, a longstanding myth is that allowing teens to drink at home will make it less likely that they will drink elsewhere.  In truth, more than half of high school teens who report their parents allow them to drink at home, even just to celebrate, say they also drink with their friends.  Fifty-two percent of 15-year olds say they either drink at home or at a friend’s house.  However, only 31 percent of parents of 15-16-year-olds believe their child had a drink in the past year.

The Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs has prepared a helpful guide for parents.  It is called, “Tips for Parents:  Underage Drinking in California, What Can You Do?”.  You can access this guide, along with many more prevention resources and information free of charge at the ADP website:

Why is ATTENDANCE so important?
Regular attendance is vital to a student's success in school. Grades may be lowered due to absences, tardiness, or truancies. All students are expected to be on campus or involved in school-sponsored activities for the full extent of each school day. Parents and students are reminded that absence from any part of the school day is undesirable and should be avoided if at all possible by planning appointments and vacations at times that do not conflict with school. Attendance is reported to the office every period. If school must be missed, notify the school before 8:30 a.m. Please make every effort to have students attend at least part of the school day. Students who miss an entire school day for any reason (including illness) are not included in the formula for state funding for that day. (Ed. Code 48205) The loss of funding affects the ability of the school to maintain school programs and affects the greater achievement of our students.

THE TRINITY HIGH SCHOOL MASS NOTIFICATION SYSTEM for PARENTS AND/OR GUARDIANS
Whenever your student is absent or tardy to one or more classes, the automated phone system should telephone your home phone number the evening of the absence or tardy and leave a message for you to contact the school. IF NO VERIFICATION IS RECEIVED WITHIN 3 SCHOOL DAYS OF THE ABSENCE, THE ABSENCE WILL BE RECORDED AS UNEXCUSED & CANNOT BE CHANGED. By calling the school the morning of your students absence to verify the absence, your name should be removed from the automated calling system and you should not receive a call
DROPPING OFF YOUR STUDENT(S)
PLEASE remember to drop off your students in front of the school—NOT in the faculty parking area behind the office or the behind the school!!!
STUDENTS LEAVING CAMPUS
All students MUST check out of school in the office prior to leaving campus. Students are not to call their parents/guardians from a cell phone and get picked up without first checking out with the office.
CALLING STUDENTS WHILE THEY ARE IN SCHOOL.
We understand that emergency/unexpected situations arise, but for non-emergency reasons, taking students out of class and/or interrupting classes to take students notes is disrupting not only to your student, but to the other students as well. With a little advanced planning, most of the calls to students could be eliminated. Thank you for your help and consideration in this matter.
STUDENT CHARGES AND FEES
We, at Trinity High School, mail out letters on a regular basis to notify parents of student charges. Even with these letters, we find items are frequently not returned. Transcripts and diplomas (per Ed. Code #48904.3) will not be handed out until your child has returned or paid for all school issued related items. These include textbooks, library books, uniforms, locks or misc. fees. If you have any questions, please direct them to Mrs. Cody, 623.6127 ext. 204
LOST AND FOUND
At the end of the month all unclaimed items residing in the lost and found will be donated. Please remind your student to check with the high school office when they have misplaced an item.
