TRIO
A federally funded program through Shasta College, TRIO Educational Talent Search helps prepare low-income and first generation* middle and high schools in Shasta and Trinity Counties to complete high school and enroll in and complete a program of postsecondary education.
*first generation = neither parent has graduated from a 4-year college.
Our Mission:
The Shasta College TRIO Educational Talent Search program assists students who have the desire and potential to succeed in higher education. The program provides academic, career, financial aid and financial literacy counseling to its participants while encouraging them to graduate from high school and continue their education at a postsecondary institution of their choice.

Eligibility Requirements:
In addition to being enrolled at Trinity High School, students must
- Be a first generation college student (neither custodial parent has received a Bachelor's Degree)

Meet federal income guidelines
- Have a 2.0 or "C" grade point average
- Be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
